Study Description

Transformed by Truth is the first book of four in A Life Devoted series. It explores the necessity of understanding Truth in six lessons:

1. The Need for Truth

2. The Source of Truth

3. The Nature of Truth

4. Knowing Truth

5. The Power of Truth

6. Living in Truth

Truth is a concept that seems less and less understood as time goes on. It seems we can distort truth, water it down, bend it and deny it. Truth can be marginal, relative or partial, but it is rarely regarded as absolute. We often look to science, books, philosophies, church dogma and traditions or personal experience to determine truth. But how do we really know what is true? Whose truth can we trust? Explore the answer to these questions with Transformed by Truth: A Life Devoted to God’s Word.

This study is based on John 17:17

"Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth."

Study Description

A Life in Common is the second study of four in A Life Devoted series. It delves deeply into the biblical meaning of fellowship in six lessons:

1. His Life in Common

2. A Father in Common

3. Sharing a Common Nature

4. Holding Common Values

5. Living for a Common Purpose

6. Sharing a Common Hope

If you have ever wondered if believers in Jesus Christ can experience true fellowship in a modern world, or about the need to be with those who are like-minded, you will find answers in this study. Understanding that others may need us and that God’s fullness can only be experienced through fellowship in the body of Christ may change your priorities. God created us for fellowship with Himself and others but it is a challenge at any meaningful level with our fast-paced lives. This study explores the necessity and power of fellowship in the life of the believer in Jesus Christ and examines what is required to experience intimate fellowship in the Spirit.

This study is based on 1 John 1:3

“...that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed, our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Study Description

Seeking the Face of God is the third study of four in A Life Devoted series. It calls believers in Jesus Christ to come together across denominational and cultural lines to examine God’s Word and allow it to shape anew our understanding of prayer in six lessons:

1. Created for Relationship

2. Called and Humble

3. Dialoguing with the Father

4. Seeking His Face

5. Turn from Your Ways

6. He Will Hear

This study brings to light an understanding of the soul condition God responds to as we seek His face in prayer. Because our views and experiences with prayer are often determined by our religious culture, family practice, denomination, or by our own beliefs about God prayer can come to mean different things to different people. To some it is a ritual that they participate in during worship services or before meals. To some it is a time to recite a list of needs before they start their day. To others, it is an experience of desperately begging God to meet their needs. For the mature in faith, however, prayer is a time to experience a close intimacy with their Heavenly Father.

This study is based on II Chronicles 7:14-16

“if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.”

Captivated by Gratitude: A Life Devoted to Worship

The Digital Workbook pdf is a one-time download available for 14 days from the date of purchase. The pdf has easy navigation links and all scripture references have links to Bible Gateway. Study Description

Captivated by Gratitude, the fourth and final book in A Life Devoted Series. It is designed to help believers in Jesus Christ understand the essence of true worship and what our heart attitudes ought to be as we approach our Great and Mighty God. Lesson titles:

1.    Worship

2.    Because of Mercy

3.    A Living Sacrifice

4.    Holy and Pleasing

5.    Be Transformed

6.    His Perfect Will

The six lessons contained in this study aim to stir up a focus in our church worship experience that pleases our God. In seeking the heart of worship, we can know our God more deeply, and in that knowing we will be forever changed. Our souls are often captivated by the things we believe bring us value, fulfill our desires, or meet our needs. However, the soul that rightly worships God is focused outward and upward not inward. Worship is genuine when we are emptied of ourselves, focused on Him, filled with gratitude.

This study is based on Romans 12:1-2

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Derek is the Hebrew word for path, journey, or way. In Jeremiah 6:16 "derek" is the word for crossroads. It is the place we stand when we are presented with two options. We have a choice to make. God's way is the ancient path, the narrow path, that has been traveled by many before us. When we ask for His way, the good way, and walk in it, we find rest for our souls.

“Stand at the crossroads and look;
    ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
